Frequently Asked Questions

What is GoodCollective?

GoodCollective is a platform that supports climate impact initiatives through enabling direct digital payments to individuals who perform verified climate stewardship.

How do GoodCollective stewards get paid?

Good collective stewards get paid every time they take a measurement or make a claim through a partner's platform that is verified by that partners methodology. Technically, comma, this happens when an NF T is meant to confirm the verification of their activity, which triggers a payment in a smart contract, which has specific parameters about how much each steward is compensated per activity that are set for that specific good collective and the context of the measurement.

Why would I want to start a GoodCollective?

If your company or community works with individuals who would benefit from a supplemental income stream to support their climate positive activities, GoodCollective can help.

How do I get paid for my own environmental impact?

We currently provide direct payment to stewards who are affiliated with a trusted climate project that meets the criteria below (see “Who can start a GoodCollective?”). If you work with a community service organization or project developer, please suggest they apply to be a partner!

Who can start a GoodCollective?

At a high-level, any climate-positive community or project developer that:

  • Has direct relationships with individuals taking climate action (or inaction - in the case of people preserving and safeguarding natural landscapes).

  • Involves these individuals in their activities in a way that is trackable and traceable (e.g. by having them take ground-truth measurements using their mobile device).

  • Employs digital measurement and verification of relevant activities done by local stewards

  • Works with a publicly-accessible methodology to verify the legitimacy of this climate action.
